Congratulations to Chris LLoyd who won a bronze medal in the 400m at the Pan Am Games in Rio de Janeiro (July 25, 2007). Running 45.40s Chris equaled his PB (for the third time this season).
This is the second medal ever for Dominica at the Pan Am Games - Jerome Romain (DA Team Coach in Rio) won a silver medal in the Triple Jump in 1995 and then went on to win a bronze at the World Championship in the same year.
After winning bronze in the 200m at the NACAC Championship two weeks ago and bronze today in the 400m, we are confident that Dominica will be well represented at the next big challenge: the IAAF World Championship in Japan end of August. Chris has a good chance to repeat Jerome's success story of 1995 - he is the only WC qualifier up to now (deadline 13th August).
