Chris Lloyd ran his first outdoor race this weekend [26/4/2008] at Drake Relays and ran a solid 46.80 despite the cold weather and very strong winds. I have attached the results below and a quote from the paper about the conditions.
"as competitors struggled to perform to their peak with temperatures in the low 40s and swirling winds throughout the day.
The temperature dropped almost 20 degrees by noon, and wind gusts of up to 28 mph knocked down all the plants on the medal stand.
Folks that view the Drake Relays as the unofficial event of spring bundled up in winter coats, gloves and hats and packed concession stands selling coffee and hot chocolate. The fans stuck around though, even giving the sun a sarcastic round of applause when the it made a brief appearance midway through the afternoon."
